We act as your Purchasing Department in Portugal, by assisting you from the moment you see the need for a product, through sourcing, placement of orders, and successful completion. The only way we can do this however is if you make us part of your team, talking to us about your thoughts and ideas, and giving us feedback on our suggestions and actions.

We can provide a unique package of pertinent, up-to-date information regarding potential suppliers, their products, capabilities, and limitations, thus enabling you to make the correct choice of supplier, be it for a product already in production or one of your own design. Send us a sample, artwork, a sketch or just a written idea of what you would like and we will show you the possibilities available in Portugal. Although we specialise in ceramics, we can also show you candles, cork, kitchen and table top cutlery, glass, metals, plastics, porcelain, textiles and wood.

In terms of new decorations for ceramics, we can work with hand painters to produce new samples, or if the decoration requires a decal, use our capability to turn your sketchs or artwork into cold decals in very little time. A cold decal is like a colour photocopy but on a decal so that you can see what the decoration would look like on the actual pieces, without wasting a lot of time and money making the actual decal. The colours on a cold decal, as is the case with colour photocopies, are inaccurate and so the cold decal is used only to see what the design would look like on the item in terms of placement and coverage, etc.

Should you require new shapes as well as decorations we can work with the manufacturers and molde makers to produce the desired items. We will be able to inform you of the approximate costs involved before any new molde is made, so that you do not get any nasty suprises at the end.

We have the good fortune to be able to introduce you to various Portuguese and international designers and work with you and them to produce new, exclusive and exciting lines, possibly with advantageous cost conditions.

We organize and accompany you on your buying trip to Portugal. We try to plan a trip tailored to your specific needs, visiting existing and potential suppliers, which will not only allow you to choose the right products, from the right suppliers, but help you build the desired long term business relationships which will give you the best buying terms and conditions. We will send you a proposed itinerary before hand which we ask you to please review and comment on. You may want to exclude a certain factory, allow more time at another, or have a specific product type in mind which we have left out all together. The only way we will know and hence make YOUR trip successful, is if you talk to us and let us know. Once you confirm the itinerary we will take care of booking the visits, hotels, etc. and will look forward to picking you up at the airport upon your arrival.

We will follow-up your buying trip by visiting the manufacturers to see the progress of the requested samples. We will collect all the samples in our office, label and pack them, sending them to you in one batch via the transportation method and company of your choice. We would also be happy to visit you to go over all the samples and any changes or actions you may want done, should you so wish. Our experience of this has shown that it speeds things up, and helps us get a better understanding of what you require, and helps you have a better understaning of what has happened and what any changes would involve, hence producing better, quicker results for all concerned.

We place your orders with the respective suppliers on your behalf, confirming all details such as quality, price, delivery date, packing, marking, and any other special requirements. We will then supervise the progress of your orders, expediting whenever necessary, and periodically inspecting the quality of both product and packing, so as to make sure that you receive the right product, in the right condition at the right time. We keep a sample of all items you select which we use in quality control to help make sure the product shipped is exactly what you expected. We verify the supplier's invoices and packing lists, arrange the shipping as per your instructions, collect all relevant shipping documents and control all requests for and eventually the actual payments to your suppliers, thus avoiding problems such as incomplete documentation and double payments.

Some of the problems in international trade are caused by cultural differences and misunderstandings. We can help you understand the Portuguese way of doing business, helping you obtain your desired results.

Although you would always like to hear a reply of "yes" to your requests, and we would dearly like to give it, it is not always going to be possible. When not possible we try to give you some alternatives, thought out to help you. If they will not do, talk to us as you would your coleague at the desk next to you, so that together we can work out the best possible compromise.

All of these services revolve around one thing; information. You provide us with the information about your requirements and we provide you with the information about what is being done to satisfy them. If one of the sides falls down on the transmission of this information, the result cannot be anything else but disappointing. Hence, please make certain that you talk to us and we talk to you in a clear and direct way, making sure that we all understand.
